Well Hello There! It’s a new week, and I’m ready to tackle this week with a zest, desire and drive that I have been missing the last couple weeks.
Did anyone else feel like they have just lost any and all motivation? I’m pretty sure it is just the weather. But after a few days of feeling lost you wonder if you will even find your way back to where you were. However, I think I will survive! Now I just gotta get that rediscovered motivation to spill over into working out. That’s been struggle bus city lately.
When you get down and out, it’s hard to push yourself to work out or stay on track. And I know that from my own numerous experiences. I let myself wallow for whatever time I need, and come out of it, an now it’s time to get back on track. I haven’t forgotten my goals. And I don’t think of it as starting over, I think of it as picking back up. Because life isn’t a series of do overs, it’s learning and getting better and moving on every time you get back up after falling down.
Don’t give up on your goals, just because you got off track for a day or a few days or even a week. Remember those goals are bigger than any set back. Those goals are a promise from you to YOU.
One thing I was proud of myself about was that even though I had no motivation, or ambition; I didn’t let myself go completely off the rails nutrition wise. I didn’t work out, but I also didn’t eat crap. And there was a time, that I would have. The more you do something the better you are at maintaining it.
My eating is finally getting better, after over 2 years of trying and failing and trying and failing. It’s no overnight success. Now, I need to be better at consistently working out. And that is my main goal now that I’m confident in my eating habits. Do I indulge or splurge from time to time? Yes. But I don’t go off the rails and live there anymore for days at a time or weeks at a time. I have the item, and I move on to my regular habits.
Remember to be kind to yourself. But to also know that a set back or detour doesn’t mean forever. You aren’t starting over, you are just moving on. Don’t be defined by the set backs. You are more than that. You are better than those, and you can be better and better in time.
Also, there are no overnight successes or failures for that matter. And everyone’s path is different, and someone might get there faster than you but that doesn’t make it right or wrong. You do you. And if it takes a long time, remember you are your own masterpiece. It will take however long it takes. But don’t give up. You have one life to live. Make a healthy, fun, fabulous one.
